Daylight can help your body adjust to your new environment much faster. • If you will be stuck on a plane or train for a long period of time, avoid deep vein thrombosis with periodic ankle pumps: every 15-30 minutes, move your foot up and down to work your leg muscles, keeping the circulation flowing below the knee. • When traveling with medications, don’t try to save space by consolidating them – it’s not worth the potential hassle with Customs or the TSA. Carry your prescription meds in your carry-on luggage in their original pharmacy labeled bottles. This prevents a potential medical issue if your luggage is lost and clarifies any questions officials may have. Whatever your plans are this season, remember to take care of yourself, and most importantly, enjoy the opportunity to catch up with loved ones you may not see every day. Happy holidays!
