FITNESS PROGRAMS INSPIRE GUESTS TO SHAPE UP FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE AND LIFE OPTIMIZATION

An integral part of a healthy lifestyle, physical fitness is a key component of programs offered at California Health & Longevity Institute, located at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village in Southern California. Exercise physiologists and specialists engage guests in individual consultations, private training and group workshops based upon scientific evidence and assessments to personalize the recommendations for each individual.  Led by Director of Fitness and Exercise Physiologist Mike Brazeal, programs focus on enabling guests to achieve physical fitness through comprehensive assessment and training models focused on posture, flexibility, corrective exercise, core stabilization, strength and cardio respiratory training. 

Specialists offer guests personal guidance and exercise programs based upon recommendations that can be gathered through scientific assessments such as body mapping, VO2 metabolic testing or assessing a person’s resting metabolic rate.  Personal fitness consultations are also available, valuable for both novices and fitness enthusiasts, to create a complete workout plan or invigorate an existing routine.  Private instruction in fitness, yoga and Pilates is also available with certified trainers emphasizing technique, form and safety in a results-driven format.

Fitness Programs for Groups
Workshops are also available for corporate or other private groups including topics such as “Fitness Techniques to Reduce Stress” focusing on how to neutralize stress and its physical effect on our bodies through scientifically proven exercise techniques that resort balance and eliminate tension.

For invigorating group team-building, a 1.5 mile Energy Walk is led by a fitness instructor throughout the gardens surrounding Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. A series of toning exercises, gentle stretching, cool down exercises and a question and answer session is part of the walk.  Groups with more than 20 participants can plan a group hike taking advantage of the scenic beauty of the nearby Santa Monica Mountains, just a short 15-minute drive from the Hotel.  Ideal for 100 or more, larger groups can be divided according to ability with a variety of trails available at varying levels.  Yoga can also be reserved for a private group.

Fitness Center
Guest consultations, workshops and individual workouts take place in the 16,000-square-foot Fitness Center, furnished with more than 20 cardio machines featuring individual televisions, circuit training machines, free weights and a Pilates reformer.  In addition, a movement studio provides a designated gathering place for workshops as well as yoga or Pilates.  An indoor lap pool is available for aquatic pursuits.  Separate men’s and ladies locker areas, complete with steam showers and dry saunas, are also available.  Towel and water service is provided by the staff of Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village.
